Claire E. Hunter
Claire Hunter has recently joined the firm after five years of
practice with Sullivan & Cromwell in New York, where she focussed on
defending financial institutions in criminal, regulatory and
securities class actions, conducting internal investigations and
providing advice on compliance with U.S. securities laws as well as
general civil litigation and administrative law. She has been a member
of the New York State bar since 2004 and is admitted to practice
before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and
Western Districts of New York and the United States Court of Appeals
for the Second Circuit.
A graduate of McGill, Stanford and the University of Toronto Faculty
of Law, Claire spent a year as law clerk to Justice Iacobucci of the
Supreme Court of Canada before commencing her practice in New York.
She was called to the bar in Ontario in 2004 as well as being a member
of the British Columbia bar.
