Brent B. Olthuis
Brent Olthuis' practice spans a wide range of litigation matters, with a
primary focus in the areas of commercial litigation and administrative and
constitutional law. In addition, Brent has experience in criminal trial
and appellate work and is currently assisting in the prosecution of a
large criminal proceeding. He has appeared as counsel in all levels of
court in Ontario and British Columbia, the Federal Court and Federal Court
of Appeal, and in the Supreme Court of Canada.
Brent has a distinguished academic record, having graduated first in his
LL.B. class at McGill and also having clerked at both the Court of Appeal
for Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada. He received SSHRC funding for
his Master's studies, and has recently published an abridged version of
his thesis. Brent has previously published articles in the fields of
aboriginal law and criminal practice and has contributed a chapter on
professional conduct to a leading text concerning the practice of law in
Canada.
