Class Actions
The firm's class actions practice is headed by Bill Berardino, Q.C. and Ken McEwan, Q.C., each of whom have extensive experience in class actions having argued certification motions and conducted actions in many legal contexts. In the 2010 Chambers Global Guide, Bill is identified as one of the top three class action counsel in Canada. Collectively, Bill and Ken have handled class action issues involving medical devices, pharmaceuticals, product defects, securities claims, alleged price fixing and deceptive acts and practices contrary to consumer protection legislation.
The firm's class action practice is limited to representing defendants and we have worked closely with counsel for other parties and with counsel from other jurisdictions to build an effective team approach for an integrated defence position.
